Objectives of the course
The treatment of angular deformities has always been considered a difficult subject. As often happens, the difficulty of a procedure is increased by its poor understanding. The aim of the course is to provide participants with the tools for a clear understanding of how to manage bone transport and angular deformities, guiding them step by step from planning to carrying the treatment out.
The first part is focused on the conceptual aspects of the regenerated bone and the progressive correction of angular deformities. Then the different components of the deformity will be analyzed, and the calculations necessary for their evaluation performed. Finally, a correction will be carried out concretely based on what was theoretically anticipated.
The participants will be guided step by step in the implementation of the method, from preliminary calculations to the verification of the final result obtained on the model.
Particular attention will be paid to the management of post-operative problems, in particular as regards the need for changes in the course of treatment.
For this reason, a session will be specifically dedicated to addressing those situations that, if not known, can compromise the outcome of the whole procedure. The interactive discussion of clinical cases will allow to evaluate how the concepts presented have been applied concretely. Participants will thus have the opportunity to share the experiences gained in this sector in recent years.
