The plates for X-Porous TTA are made of titanium and offer nine sizes available, divided into three groups according to their size: series 4, series 7 and series 8. Usually, series 4 plates are used for small dogs, those series 7 for medium-large dogs and those of series 8 for large-giant dogs. In addition to the size, it is important that the surgeon also checks that the the plate fit to the shape of the tibia.
The plate is curved to allow for better adaptation to the tibial crest. Depending on the model, there are two or three holes in the proximal part for inserting screws into the tibial crest, while in the distal part there are one or two holes for inserting the screw into the tibial metaphysis. Tibial crest screws can be locked or non-locked, depending on the surgeon’s preference and the conditions of the specific procedure.
